Thoughtcrime: A New Film

Edinburgh Expeditions

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it is the moment you have all been waiting for. It’s the premiere of my first film, Thoughtcrime. Loosely based on George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four, it plays on the themes of surveillance, love, and honesty.

The film was written, directed and edited by yours truly and is my first film. I advise that you watch it wearing headphones, the sound quality is not the best.

This was brilliant! The novel 1984 is a particular favourite of mine. The story resonates so much in our modern society and I love the story. What you have done with it is brilliant! You are very talented and the film was stylish, accurate, well scripted, film angles were great, lighting was neatly done, acting was well done and was just right in terms of capturing the ‘documentary’ styling and CCTV footage ‘natural’ look of the characters and overall it was an excellent piece of film work. Keep at this work because you have talent and a future in it.

      Thank you Richard!
I had an absolute blast making Thoughtcrime. It didn’t feel like work at all. I definitely want to make more films–I just need to get a video camera of my own.
